Connect your Android phone to n8n with VoxiSMS. Send messages through
your SIM and carrier plan, and start workflows when a reply arrives.
Use the verified community node on n8n Cloud or a self-hosted
instance.
Install VoxiSMS on an Android phone with an active SIM. Link the phone to your VoxiSMS account and keep it powered and online. Your VoxiSMS subscription and carrier plan apply.
2. Install the verified node
In n8n Cloud, the workspace owner can search for VoxiSMS in the node panel and install the verified community node. Community nodes must be enabled. On a self-hosted instance, use Settings → Community Nodes → Install with the package name below.
3. Connect your credentials
Create a VoxiSMS API credential. On the Link your phone page of your VoxiSMS dashboard, use the registered phone number without its leading + as Customer ID, and the value under Activate your token as Token. Keep the token in n8n’s credential store.
4. Check the connection
Use the credential’s Test button first. This performs a read-only status check and does not send an SMS. A successful credential check confirms the connection, not message delivery.
Add VoxiSMS after your workflow’s trigger. Select SMS → Send,
choose your credential, and map Recipient and Message. Recipient
uses international format, including the country code and leading
+.
Message ID is optional; the node generates one when it is empty.
Send your first test to a number you control and confirm it
arrives before enabling the workflow for customers.
VoxiSMS Trigger
Choose this node to start a workflow from incoming SMS. Select
your VoxiSMS credential. When activated, the node registers its
webhook subscription automatically; your n8n instance must be
reachable over public HTTPS.
Map fromNumber and content into Slack, your CRM, or another
action. Events can be retried: use eventId to avoid repeating a
downstream action for the same event.
Yes. VoxiSMS is a verified community node. A workspace owner can install it from the node panel when community nodes are enabled. Self-hosted instances can also install @voxiness/n8n-nodes-voxisms through Settings → Community Nodes.
What credentials do I need?
Both nodes use the VoxiSMS API credential with Customer ID and Token from the Link your phone page in your VoxiSMS dashboard. Customer ID is your registered phone number without the leading +. Recipient numbers in the Send operation use international E.164 format, including +.
Does a successful Send operation mean the SMS was delivered?
No. The node returns message identifiers after a successful send request. Check the recipient phone during testing; the sender phone must be online and able to send through its carrier plan.
What does the inbound trigger need?
Your n8n instance needs a publicly reachable HTTPS webhook URL. Activating a workflow with VoxiSMS Trigger registers its webhook subscription; deactivating it removes the subscription. Use eventId to prevent repeated downstream actions if an event is retried.
